Guy Ritchie's Aladdin remake will have Indian actors playing the lead roles

Renowned Hollywood film maker Guy Ritchie is directing the remake of the 1992 Disney movie Aladdin into a live-action film. What is more interesting is that the director wants to cast authentic Indian actors in the lead roles of the movie. Well, this news must surely come as a sweet surprise for all Indian actors in the industry and as well as all the aspiring actors out there. The Guy Ritchie's Aladdin is planned by Disney on the lines of its recent hits.

The last two live-action flick of Disney like 'Jungle Book' and 'Beauty and the Beast' went on to become blockbusters and the studio is planning to bring yet another hit 'Aladdin' back into the screens. The animation flick that was released back in 1992 was considered to be one of the classic from Disney which had Robbin Williams voicing out for the character of Genie.

In a recent development, Guy Ritchie has hired Tess Joseph as casting director with a task of finding the right talent from India for the role of protagonist. Tess Joseph has already worked on projects like 'Life of Pi', 'Lion' and 'The Namesake' which had many Indian actors on the cast. It is said that Guy Ritchie wanted to give an authentic look to the movie by casting Indian actors on the important roles.

According to reports the only requirement that the talented casting director is looking for is to sing like a Broadway artist. Tess Joseph will be travelling to all the four metropolitan cities for audition and few actor/singer have already auditioned for the role. The shooting for the Guy Ritchie's Aladdin will commence later this year in London.



For those of you all who are not familiar with the directors credential, Guy Ritchie is famous for his gangster flicks like 'Lock, Stock Two Smoking Barrerls' 'Rock 'n' Rolla' and 'Snatch'. He also directed the Spy Thrillers like 'Sherlock holmes' and 'The man from U.N.C.L.E' while his last movie as director is 'King Arthur'.
