Hari and Vikram's Saamy 2 to be made on a lavish budget - Bobby Simha dons three get-up

The movie Saamy which released back in 2003 was a phenomenal hit and also established a strong place for Vikram in the industry. The movie directed by Hari was appreciated for the racy screenplay and the out of box characterization of Vikram. Chiyaan played a shrewd police officer who depends more on brain over brawn. Nearly after 15 years, the director and the hero are coming back together for a sequel with a huge budget. The movie Saamy 2 was recently commenced formally and the shooting is expected to start by the end of this month. Bobby Simha will be playing the antagonist in this film, while Keerthy Suresh has been roped in as heroine along with Trisha Krishnan.

According to reports, Bobby Simha will sport three different looks for this film. He will be doing the role of Annachi's (Kotta Srinivas rao) son and his character has been strongly written by Hari. Also the character of Trisha will be murdered by the Villain's in the flashback as per reports. The film will retain most of the actors from the first part with the exception of Vivek. Soori will fill the shoes of Vivek as comedian in Saamy 2. The crew is expected to wind up the shooting in 120 days and the film will be shot in Chennai and parts of North India. Also the music director Harris Jeyaraj has been replaced by Devi Sri Prasad for the sequel.

The first part was made with a budget of 5 crores and yielded a profit of around 80 crores at the end of its run. The sequel Saamy 2 is said to be made with a budget of 6o crores. The movie is expected to be more stylish and grand than the first part. Vikram who will be reprising the role of Aarusamy will take on Bobby Simha who is smart in using technology. With a huge budget and a powerful star cast the movie is expected to be more intense that its predecessor in many ways. Stay tuned for more updates.
