Indian 2 officially announced - Kamal Haasan & Shankar to reunite for the 180 crore sequel

In a rapid development today, the sequel of the Shankar and Kamal Haasan movie Indian was officially announced today. The movie Indian 2 has been long on cards and there were a lot of speculation surrounding the project. Director Shankar who is currently busy with 2.0 with Rajinikanth was said to team up with Kamal Haasan for the sequel of the 1996 film. It was also said that Sri Venkateshwara Creations will bank roll this project. But there weren't any confirmation on these speculation from Kamal Haasan or director Shankar. However, this project was formally announced today by producer Dil Raju.

The film Indian 2 was announced today by the twitter handle of Sri Venkateshwara Creations. The movie will be directed by Shankar and will have Ulaganayagan playing the lead. Although other details regarding the cast and crew were not announced. The movie which is based on anti-corruption is said to extend the real life image of Kamal Haasan who is about to make an entry into politics. The first part dealt the story of aged freedom fighter who takes on the corrupt system and authorities. It is still not clear if the sequel will be a continuation or a new story altogether.

The film is said to be made on a massive budget of 180 crores. The Tollywood producer Dil Raju will produce this prestigious project under his banner Sri Venkateshwara Creations. The fill will be a Bi-lingual and is expected to be made in Tamil and Telugu. The shooting for the film is expected to start from January 2018 after Shankar is done with Rajinikanth's 2.0.
