The Online movie streaming giant Netflix is showing keen interest in acquiring the rights for Prabhas movies. Prabhas who is currently enjoying the popularity all over the world with the blockbuster Baahubali series is currently acting in Saaho. The movie is directed by Sujeeth and produced by UV creations. Incidentally, the same production house has also roped in Prabhas for his next movie after Saaho. Radhakrishna Kumar is expected to direct the movie starring Saaho. Both the movies are planned for a massive release across the world and are made in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam.
Netflix already has acquired the streaming rights of Rajamouli's masterpiece Baahubali 1 & 2. The movie has attracted a lot of viewers in Netflix and this has made the company to show interest on all Prabhas movies. UV creation is producing the next two movies of Prabhas and Netflix is already in talks to acquire the streaming rights for this two movies. They are quoting as high as 50 crores for the two movies including all 4 versions. It must be noted that 'Saaho' is made with a lavish budget of 150 crores. The budget of his next movie after Sahoo is still unknown.
Netflix has always shown interest on Indian movies with huge star cast that are targeted to mainstream audience. The company earlier acquired the streaming rights of Aamir Khan starrer Dangal which earned a very good viewership. Now, Netflix has started a hunt for Indian movies that have a wide audience appeal. Starting with Prabhas, the internet streaming giant might show interest on movies of other South Indian stars as well. This should be a very good news for the producers of South Indian Cinema. Now they can cash in on their movies by selling the online streaming rights along with satellite rights and other media rights associated with the movie.
