The Sibiraj and Aishwarya Rajesh starrer 'Kattappava Kaanom' directed by Mani Seiyon has managed to perform well this weekend earning itself an Average tag at the Box Office. In Chennai, the movie opened to a total of 115 sh0ws across 14 screens with an average occupancy rate of 70% and collected a total of Rs.20,28,670. The movie is riding high on some decent reviews from audience and may continue to do well judging by the current trend. Sibiraj has already had a decent run at Box office with his recent movies like 'Jackson Durai' and 'Naaigal Jaakkirathai' doing some average business and his latest flick might also join the list soon.
On the other hand, the GV Prakash's latest movie 'Bruce Lee' has seen a major drop in the occupancy rate with only 55% on its first week end. In Chennai 'Bruce Lee' opened at around 22 screens with total show count of 223, but managed to collect only around Rs.52,64,370 earning it a Below Average tag. The movie opened to some disastrous reviews from audience and critics which hampered the collections and chances of a turnaround is pretty less. It must be noted that GV Prakash's movies are continuously met with bad reviews from audience and the actor need to rethink his strategy. With some pretty good projects on the pipeline for him, GV Prakash might be looking forward for a fresh beginning.
Meanwhile, the medical thriller 'Kuttram 23' starring Arun Vijay is still doing some solid business in its third week. The movie currently has a show count of 45 across the 10 screens its currently on, and has earned a total of Rs.8,86,120, which is a pretty good number.
