Rajamouli's 'Baahubali' has opened the door for the South Indian film Industry to the International market and now many high budget movies are being made currently in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. With 'Baahubali - The Conclusion' earning over 2000 Crores worldwide, many producers are coming forward to invest a huge money in South Indian film industry.
'2.0' which is currently under production is being made with a budget of 400 crores. The movie which is directed by Shankar starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson is produced by Lyca. Meanwhile, the Malayalam film industry announced the movie 'The Mahabharath' starring Mohanlal which is touted to be made with a monstrous budget of 1000 crores. The film is expected to be the most costliest movie in Indian Cinema.
'Sangamithra' which was recently launched at Cannes is said to be made with a lavish budget of 300 crores. The movie starring Jayam Ravi, Arya and Shruthi Haasan is directed by Sundar C. 'Sangamithra' will be one of the most expensive movies in Tamil cinema. Also, the Vijay 61 directed by Atlee will be made with a budget of 12o crores, while Ajith film 'Vivegam' directed by Siva is made on a budget of 100 crores.
Also, the Chiranjeevi's upcoming movie 'Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy' which is based on a Rayalaseema freedom fighter is said to be made with a budget of 150 crores. The AR Murugadoss directed 'Spyder' starring Mahesh babu which is releasing in September is said to be made with a budget of 120 crores, while the Prabhas starrer 'Sahoo' is being made with a budget of 150 crores.
'Baahubali' is truly a game changer for South Indian film industry as producers are now confident to roll out huge money considering the business potential for the high budget movies.
